Pizzaro came to Latin America just like Cortez. Before doing anything, though, he first tried to take a less violent route. He asked Atahualpa to convert to Christianity. However, when Atahualpa refused, the Spaniards went on the attack. They captured the Incan emperor and killed thousands of Incans. Then, they decided to offer some hope by offering an extremely high ransom for the emperor. The Incans pulled together and paid the huge sum. Nonetheless, the Spanish took the money and killed Atahualpa. After that, they swept through the empire, conquering territories and people left and right.
